Agreement Between the San Mateo Union High School District and the Adult School Federation of Teachers


ARTICLE XV: EVALUATION

The Adult School and AFT agree to collaborate to develop a workable process whereby teachers receive periodic formal feedback.

The new Article shall include the following components:
(The evaluation process is not intended to hinder or supplant the authority of the director of the Adult School to make management decisions regarding assignment of personnel, casual closure of classes, assignment of programs, class size and/or any other matters affecting the general welfare of the San Mateo Union High School District Adult School.

(Evaluation and assessment of certificated personnel will include consideration of (1) identification and development of instructional strategies to achieve appropriate teaching objectives; (2) a learning environment which encourages student progress, attendance and achievement; (3) student progress and achievement; (4) state, district, and school policies and procedures; and (5) personal growth.
