English as a Second Language

We offer English as a Second Language classes for adults and families at several elementary schools in in our community. Click here to see a complete list.

The Family Laptop Class

Learn-a-long with your child. Use computers and learn about Internet safety. Communicate with local resources and discover what is available for you. Each family brings home a laptop for use while enrolled in the class. We will assist you in acquiring your own computer when the class ends.

Family Literacy Day

What happens in the home is the most important thing in determining how quickly children learn to read and whether or not they develop a lifelong love of reading. In May, we offer a morning of presentations to parents whose primary language is not English, about how they can develop their children's literacy and what they can do to help their children achieve success in school. There are free books to take home for participating parents to read with their children. Call 558-2100 for more information about this special Saturday. The schedule is posted in April.
