QUILTING
FUN $50
Create a small quilt, tote bag or table runner while you learn
the secrets of super-easy quilt making. We’ll work with several
blocks from Joy-Lily’s just published book, Carefree Quilts -
A Freestyle Twist on Classic Designs. These blocks
have a casual style that looks great whether or not the seams
match up. (Perfection is optional in this class!) New quilters
will discover the latest tools plus cutting and sewing skills
that make creating patchwork a snap. Experienced quilters will
find new designs, color strategies, sewing machine care tips and
piecing shortcuts to enhance your quilting skills. Bring your
own portable sewing machine if possible. (A few machines are
available in class to share.) $10
materials fee is payable to the instructor.

ROOTS OF JAZZ:
America’s Classical
Music
$50
A 10-WEEK MUSIC SERIES
A 10 – Week Music Series
For almost a hundred years life in the United States has moved at a
pace and cadence that is uniquely “American”. From the thunder and
majesty of Gershwin’s incomparable “Rhapsody in Blue” to the pain
and heartache of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone
singing the blues, JAZZ has provided the soundtrack to our lives and
loves – both the way we yearned for them to be, as well as the way
they turned out. Join us as we revisit America’s greatest jazz divas
whose music shaped our perceptions, embedded itself into our lives,
and is a palpable part of our history.
Guest Passes accepted.
Class meets for ten (10) Wednesdays from 1- 2 pm, beginning
