Fast Guide to 50Plus Classes

Continue to Support the 50 PLUS PROGRAM
To offset the funding changes reflected in the State Budget Decisions for FY 09/10, classes offered in the 50 Plus Program are now fee based. The amounts below are a one time fee per semester (15 weeks)

$30.00 for one course per semester
$55.00
for two courses or more per semester
$75.00 for each course for students under 50 years of age.

55 ALIVE/AARP DRIVING SAFETY PROGRAM
What to do when driving throws you a curve! Enroll in our AARP 55/ALIVE Driver Safety Program. This 8-hour classroom refresher course is designed especially for drivers 50 years and over. You will learn:

• Defensive driving techniques • How to safely use a car phone
• New traffic laws and rules of the road • And much more
• How to deal with aggressive drivers

$12 fee for AARP members and $14 for non-members (payable to AARP) covers workbook and DMV certificate. Class size is limited, so pre-register early.

Gentle Pilates:  Level 1

Discover long-forgotten muscles and bring pleasure back to movement with Pilates! Pilates is a series of mat-based exercises designed to improve posture, balance, and flexibility while strengthening your “core” — the abdominal, gluteus, hip, and back muscles. No prior experience is necessary.  Please bring a mat, pillow, and a towel to class.

Gentle Pilates:  Level 2
An intermediate level class, designed for those who have taken Gentle Pilates, Level 1 and are ready for a more challenging workout. If you have osteoporosis or spinal issues, Level 1 is a more appropriate class for you. Please bring a mat and a pillow or towel to class.
