2010 CLASS FEES

The District Board of Trustees approved  a restructuring of the 50 Plus Program class fees.  Individuals 65 and over will continue to pay the current rate of $30 per class per semester. For mature adult students between the ages of 50 and 64, the class fee will increase from $30 to $50 per class per semester.  The discount for taking two or more courses will be discontinued.  These changes effective January 1, 2010, are reflected below.

	Students: 65 years or older		$30 for one course per semester
	Students: 50 - 64 years		$50 for one course per semester
	Students: Under 50 years		$75 for one course per semester

A Day of Fun & Friends!  Enrich your life! Develop new skills, learn about your community, improve your well-being. Every Monday the Chadbourne Center offers its unique program of “something for everyone.” Active seniors drop by and find new friends, stimulation and fun. In addition to the specific classes listed below, this one-day-a-week program offers outside speakers, trips, lunch and special events.  Join us in the afternoons for Pedro and Mexican Card Train.

CHAIR EXERCISES New Teacher
Join fitness instructor, Charla Jean, as she leads you through a sequence of chair exercises designed specifically for mature adults.  Students report they leave this fun and uplifting class feeling happier, healthier and motivated to return.  (No Class 1/18, 2/15, 4/5)

CREATIVE ARTS & CRAFTS
Chadbourne offers a wide range of arts and craft endeavors every Monday from 8:30 -11:30am.  Learn jewelry making, oil painting, watercolor, copper enameling, china painting, needlecrafts and various other decorative arts. Enjoy working with others on group craft projects, or take in the benefit of working on your own craft interest in a friendly, supportive setting. (No Class 1/18, 2/15, 4/5)

CURRENT EVENTS
In addition to the class described below, this one-day-a-week program offers outside speakers, trips, and lunch, afternoon card games and special events.  

Join us at Chadbourne for current events the first Monday of every month. Hear engaging and thoughtful presentations about events taking place locally, nationally, and internationally. Keep in-step with up-to-date discoveries in the world of science, latest trends in the field of art and fashion, and new perspectives on health and aging. Class meets 1st Monday every month. NOTE:  Many classes offered by the San Mateo Adult School encourage students to express their viewpoints on the subject at hand. The Adult School reserves the right to refuse service to anyone whose participation jeopardizes our efforts to maintain this free exchange of ideas.

PAINTING:  OIL AND ACRYLIC
Learn to apply various brush techniques and mix colors to obtain the results you desire. Class covers basic instruction for beginners and more advanced topics for those  ready to move ahead. Supplies  and modest fee for materials discussed the first day of class.
