2010 CLASS FEES

The District Board of Trustees approved  a restructuring of the 50 Plus Program class fees.  Individuals 65 and over will continue to pay the current rate of $30 per class per semester. For mature adult students between the ages of 50 and 64, the class fee will increase from $30 to $50 per class per semester.  The discount for taking two or more courses will be discontinued.  These changes effective January 1, 2010, are reflected below.

  Students: 65 years or older   $30 for one course per semester  
  Students: 50 - 64 years   $50 for one course per semester  
  Students: Under 50 years   $75 for one course per semester  

CURRENT EVENTS 
Get involved in an ongoing discussion and analysis of Current Events. Explore national and international news events, as well as key issues that are shaping the world today. Some of those key issues can range from politics, finance and war, to Social Security and health care. Explore your ideas and share your opinion on issues that affect the world in which we live. (No class 4/6)

EXERCISE TO MUSIC FOR SENIORS
For fitness and well-being, join one or more of these classes. Combine low-impact aerobics with stretching and balance exercises for flexibility, endurance and better circulation. The 9 am class includes floor mat exercises for the last 10 to 15 minutes. Bring your own mat. The 10 am class uses chairs as an alternative to mats for the last part of class.
(No class 1/18, 2/15, 4/5,  4/7, 4/9).

TAI CHI
Tai Chi is a graceful, slow-moving exercise system that promotes muscle relaxation and flexibility by reducing physical tension and strain.  Tai Chi has been shown in clinical studies to improve balance and coordination. (No class 4/8)
