Learning a foreign language can help you better communicate in the countries you may choose to visit. We offer classes in Mandarin and Spanish, and additional on-line classes in French and Italian.

A  practical course in the Italian language approached by way of conversation. Intensive drill in the patterns and idioms of daily speech supported by sufficient grammar to give flexibility in the spoken language. Vision of Italian movies will be part of the course. Tiziana Balestra was born in Chieti, Italy. She received her M.A. in Italian language and literature at the University of Rome. In 2000 Professor Balestra moved to the United States, and two years later she joined the faculty at College of San Mateo, where she has taught Italian at all levels for 10 years. 8 meetings.

This course is tailored to English-speaking learners to speak Mandarin Chinese with ease. Lessons include vocabulary, pronunciation, inflection, casual and business communication and cultural insights. The Western alphabet Pinyin and simplified characters will be introduced along with an integration of audios, visuals and exercises from Web. Ms. Cai has been a language instructor of Mandarin and English since 1998. She received her BA of Chinese and English from Shanghai, China and her MA of education in San Francisco. 9 meetings.

This course focuses on the abilities to speak with native speakers. Students will master the essential 301 sentences through practice. Plentiful in and after class exercises will help improve reading and narrative skills. This course is mainly for students who have completed beginning class.
