will learn how to adopt simple strategies to help you feel

weight. You will learn the fundamentals of nutrition, the
effects of lifestyle on health, the benefits of stress
management, and ways to implement movement and exercise. You
will also receive web resources that can help you better
understand how to achieve your goal of a happier, healthier you.
For over thirty years Rosie Bank has worked in the wellness
field. As a Certified Nutrition and Wellness Counselor, Rosie’s
emphasis is nutrition for optimal health, weight management, and
disease prevention. She maintains a private practice as a Health

If you have a desire to revive a family heirloom, or
design your own unique modern concept, we are here to make your
experience an enjoyable one! Beginners will start by constructing a
boxed pillow with a zipper or an upholstered stool; learning the
skills to enable the student to rejuvenate that special chair or
sofa. Some tools are easily found in a crafts or hardware store and
some can be ordered thru a catalog. A complete materials list is
available to all new students. All levels are welcome! I have
been active in art my entire life. As I travel through life, I find

mAKING Slipcovers $70
If
your goal is to design a coordinated look, to redecorate for the
season or to protect the furniture from kids and pets, a
slipcover is a great way to go. Bring your piece of furniture to
be covered to the first class; along with the fabric, scissors,
pins, tape and marking chalk. There are some sewing machines
available for use in the classroom. Some sewing experience is
helpful. Call Anne if you need help with yardage (650-728-8119).

CRIME SCENE
INVESTIGATION - SAN MATEO $50
Ever wondered what it would be like to work in a real crime lab
or to process a crime scene and search for scientific clues?
Does it really happen like we see on C.S.I.? Maybe you are
considering a career in forensics? In this course you’ll be
introduced to the various fields that make up the realm of
forensic science. We’ll focus primarily on the area of
Criminalistics which uses many scientific disciplines to
investigate and solve crimes. You will learn about the stages of
a forensic investigation beginning at the crime scene and ending
with courtroom testimony. Find out what a typical day looks like
in a crime lab, discuss some real cases and take a crack at
processing a mock crime scene. You’ll also learn about
employment opportunities and suggested preparatory work. Bill
Lewellen is a manager at the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office
Forensic Laboratory and has been a forensic science practitioner
for 29 years. 5 meetings.
