The Path To Complete Wellness: What We Eat, What We Think, and What We Do $100
This course is designed to help students understand how proper nutrition and lifestyle choices impact their health and outlook on life. Students will learn about diet including nutrition basics, food as energy, and healthful digestion as well as gain understanding of personal, interpersonal, and social barriers to good health that may be holding them back from making healthy lifestyle choices. Adherence strategies will be discussed to help students prepare their 12-step plan for healthier living. By the end of this course students will be able to:
- Identify diet and lifestyle imbalances and learn how to recognize the barriers that keep them back from making healthier lifestyle choices,
- Identify the Basics of Nutrition (food groups, label reading, and dietary guidelines) and their effect on creating a plan for overall health,
- Recognize the lifestyle choices including their home environment, career, physical activity, and relationships and their impact on their personal lives.
- Develop a plan for healthier living based on the concepts learned throughout the course.
A materials fee of $25, paid to the instructor on the first meeting, includes food sampling during each class, worksheets, recipes, creative supplies, journals, and more. 10 meetings.
