CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT                         $2420

Start a New Career as a Clinical Medical Assistant! The San Mateo Adult School, in partnership with Boston Reed College is offering a Clinical Medical Assistant Training Program. A Clinical Medical Assistant can pursue employment as a healthcare professional in a physician’s office or clinical setting. Clinical Medical Assistants assist with procedures, caring for patients, performing simple laboratory tests and administering medications. This course provides an excellent training opportunity for anyone with a desire to work in the thriving healthcare field helping people. The Clinical Medical Assistant program also qualifies as a prerequisite for Boston Reed College’s Vocational Nursing Program. Course Fee: $2420.00 (prices subject to change) includes textbooks, course materials, externship placement and certificate of completion. Class Instruction: 134 hours Clinical Externship: 160 hours.

CALIFORNIA NOTARY PUBLIC LAW CLASS               $60
FOLLOWED BY STATE EXAM

California Needs Notaries! This course satisfies the 6-hour required class for all new and renewing Notaries Public. It is designed to help beginners and refresh renewing notaries with: changes in the law, basic principles of journaling, completing notarial wording, challenging signings as well as lawful, proper business practices and prudent care of notarial acts. It may increase your value to your employer or your personal income while serving the community. Become aware of the important role a Notary Public serves in many personal and financial transactions. Renewing Notaries can take the exam 6-months prior to expiration. Proof of Completion is valid for 2 years. The State Notary Exam will begin at 4 pm after each class. Be sure to bring:

•  A sack lunch for your 30 minute lunch break (recommended).

•  $49.16 ($45.00+ 9.25% tax) for textbook and materials. Personal checks, cash or credit card accepted.

•  A color 2"x 2" color passport photo (one can be obtained from instructor at lunch for $5 total).

•  A Money Order, Cashier’s Check or personal check for $40.00, payable to Secretary of State for the Exam.

NOTE:   Due to strict guidelines set by the state of California, we reserve the right to not admit students who arrive late for class.

NOTARY  PUBLIC MARKETING STRATEGIES                          $60

“We don’t plan to fail but occasionally we fail to plan” Notaries Public, Traveling Notaries and Notary Signing Agents need strategies to build a profitable business. You will learn ways to advertise your services that will benefit your new business and how to market and communicate your services with a  variety  options. You will learn to: 1) Pre-plan your  business  in  readiness for profit; 2) Design and plan your marketing strategies; 3) Organize your office with basic necessities, 4) Keep   accurate  records  to save  money; 5) Prepare ahead for taxes, and 6) Avoid the pitfalls of not preparing to think of yourself as a “Small Business.” Prerequisite: You must be a commissioned California Notary Public, or a Notary in process. Please bring:

•  A sack lunch for your 30 minute lunch break (recommended).

•  $43.70 ($40.00+ 9.25% tax) to be paid to the instructor at the beginning of class for textbook and materials. Personal checks, cash or credit card accepted.

HOME CARE AIDE TRAINING                              $30

Start a career in the fast growing health field. In this caregiver program you will learn to provide non-medical home care to the elderly and adults with disabilities. Course accommodates both native and limited English speakers. Pre-requisite: ESL high intermediate or higher. 20 meetings. Reminder: This class does not qualify for CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant) or Certified Home Health Aide certification.
