School Diploma and GED Preparation

As of January 2007, all High School Diploma candidates will have
to pass the California High School Exit Exam.
It’s
not too late to be a member of the Graduating class of
2009!

The
Adult Learning Center, or ALC, is an individualized, self-paced study center where
adult students can complete coursework toward the high school diploma, prepare
for the GED, or improve basic reading, writing, spelling, and math skills.

your studies at any time during the year.

Attend day or evening hours.

Use computers, video, audio recorders.

Meet
with an academic advisor to determine the best courses
to meet
your personal,
vocational, or academic goals.

Academic
advising is available at the Adult School Office.
STEP 1: Call 650 558-2116 to set up an appointment
to take a one-hour placement test. The results will be
used to determine the best option for achieving your academic
goal.
STEP
2: Meet with an academic advisor to discuss the options
available to you: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or Basic
Skills Review. If you want to obtain a high school diploma,
please bring a copy of your transcript. The advisor will
help you set up a class schedule that fits your busy day.
Plan to attend at least six hours a week to meet your
goal.
