Learn at your own pace!

The Adult Learning Center, or ALC, is an individualized, self-paced study center where adult students can complete coursework toward the high school diploma, prepare for the GED, or improve basic reading, writing, spelling, and math skills.

  • Begin your studies at any time during the year.
  • Attend day or evening hours.
  • Use computers, video, audio recorders.
  • Meet with an academic advisor to determine the best courses to meet
your personal, vocational, or academic goals.
  • Classes are Free!

Academic advising is available at the Adult School Office.

STEP 1: Call 650 558-2116 to set up an appointment to take a one-hour placement test. The results will be used to determine the best option for achieving your academic goal.

STEP 2: Meet with an academic advisor to discuss the options available to you: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or Basic Skills Review. If you want to obtain a high school diploma, please bring a copy of your transcript. The advisor will help you set up a class schedule that fits your busy day. Plan to attend at least six hours a week to meet your goal.
